Our Check-in time is 3pm. Your suite may be available before check-in time, but is never guaranteed to be ready before 3pm. Our check-out time is 11am. Late check-outs, when available are $5 per hour or fraction of an hour until 3pm, at which point you will be charged the regular nightly rate if you have not vacated the suite.


Reservations are secured by your major credit card- Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. Your card will not be charged until you check in, have not arrived by the time the office closes (we will leave an envelope on the office door for you with your key in this event), or you are a "no call, no show". Reservations must be cancelled by 3pm two days prior to your check-in date (48 hours) to avoid being charged for your entire reservation, except for Holiday weeks when 7 days notice is required to avoid being charged for your entire reservation.


Like most lodgings in Idyllwild, we do not offer daily maid service during your stay. You are always welcome to exchange any linens during your visit during office hours.


All rates are based on double occupancy and are subject to 10% Riverside County Transient Occupancy Tax. Additional persons are $10/night plus tax, and anyone over age two is a 'person'. You must declare ALL persons and pets in your party by law. The District Attorney prosecutes violators of California's Lodging Code.


The Tahquitz Inn allows well-behaved dogs, and ONLY dogs, for a fee of $10/night plus tax. If you show up with any other animal, you will not be allowed to stay and you will be charged for your entire reservation. If you attempt to sneak an unauthorized animal into one of our suites, the Sheriff will be summoned and you will be prosecuted!


Smoking is permitted OUTSIDE on the deck of your suite. The Inn has one smoking suite, a one-bedroom with two beds. Smoking inside any other suite will result in charges of not less than $50 and up to $500 plus any damages, and result in your immediate removal from the premises. Go OUTSIDE to smoke- do not test our resolve on this policy!


We are really pretty easy to get along with- we are not as bad as these 'rules' make us seem. It is because of a few poorly-behaved guests that it is necessary to spell out all these little details. If you have ever dealt with the public at large, you understand...
